As part of its initiatives to promote cycling tourism and the use of bicycles as a gentle means of transportation for tourists, the "Bike Friendly" label invited its members and partners to a networking event aimed at building relationships and exchanging ideas.
The event took place on Tuesday, February 11, at the Ibis Styles Athens Routes, a new hotel in Athens that is in the process of joining the Bike Friendly Hotels network.
Participants and members of the “Bike Friendly” network had the opportunity to get to know each other, exchange views and experiences, and explore potential collaborations.
AthensEcoBikeTours, represented by Mr. Themos Papalas, presented their innovative way of touring Athens and visiting archaeological sites by bike, including their electronic application that provides explanations for the points of interest.
The pioneering Kallichoron hotel shared its experience in serving visitors who enjoy alternative activities in Astypalea.
Additionally, Action Tours & Rentals Greece from Kassimatis Cycling, represented by Mr. Nikos Kassimatis, provided information on the routes they offer along the Athens Riviera for tourists, as well as their services for large sports-cycling groups.
Mr. Panagiotis Koumertas from Attica Paths also presented the cycling routes on Mount Hymettus, which tourists can explore with mountain bikes, reaching as far as Sounio, with the support of guides and escorts.
The “Bike Friendly” label presented its marketing program, which has been implemented with initiatives in Greece and abroad, aiming to promote the use of bicycles throughout the country. Furthermore, the “Bike Friendly” label showcased its actions and innovations to strengthen cycling tourism and support its network members, such as presenting the label at B2B workshops organized by the GNTO in the Netherlands and participating in tourism exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
