Participation of Bike Friendly in a Webinar by the Region of Western Greece on the Topic of Cycling Tourism
The webinar, organized by Deputy Regional Governor for Entrepreneurship, research, and innovation Fokion Zaimis, focused on “cycling tourism” and “thematic forms of tourism and cycling with the goal of sustainability for both residents and visitors of a destination.”
On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, journalist and General Director of NatTour, Vicky Karantzavelou, presented the Bike Friendly label to representatives of municipalities and organizations from the Region of Western Greece during a webinar organized by the region.
The focus of the webinar, hosted by Deputy Regional Governor for Entrepreneurship, Research, and Innovation Fokion Zaimis, was “Cycling Tourism” and “Thematic Forms of Tourism and Cycling with a Focus on Sustainability for Residents and Visitors of a Destination.”
The webinar also featured a presentation by Christos Petreas, an Economist and Special Advisor to the Minister of Tourism.
This webinar was part of the signing of the Eurovelo 8 – Mediterranean Route Cycling Tourism Charter and the memorandum of cooperation between the Region of Western Greece and the non-profit organization NatTour for the “Bike Friendly” Certification Program.
