Edessa is environmentally friendly and bike-friendly.
The Bike Friendly Destination certification label was awarded to the Municipality of Edessa and the Municipal Welfare Enterprise of Edessa by the Nattour organization and travel journalist Vicky Karantzavelou from TravelDailyNews.
It was an important day for Edessa, the environment, the travel experience, and sustainable urban mobility within the city, with the aim of encouraging the use of bicycles for both health and economic benefits.
The event was supported by the citizens of Edessa through the Aeropos Cycling Club, who then participated in a cycling tour through the streets of Edessa, including the unique riverside routes of the Edessaios River, culminating at the famous Edessa Waterfalls.
The goal now is to further highlight cycling routes and enhance the presence of bicycles with more pathways, including the creation of a network of bike lanes.
