The Bike Friendly Hotels were present at the Greek Travel Show 2019
The participation of “Bike Friendly Hotel” in yet another tourism exhibition aimed to promote cycling tourism and showcase the certified hotels in the network, which now exceed 60 across Greece and offer services to cyclists to facilitate their cycling excursions.
Within this context, “Bike Friendly Hotel” made its mark at the parallel events of the exhibition on Saturday, April 13. The president of NATTOUR, Ms. Tatiana Rokou, delivered a speech titled “Bike Friendly Hotel: Alternative Tourism Meets Greek Hospitality” at the exhibition’s main event space.
Visitor interest in the exhibition, which peaked mainly on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14, was reflected in the high traffic at the NATTOUR-BIKE FRIENDLY HOTELS booth. Hundreds of visitors stopped by and were informed about the certification label for cycling tourism hotels, the certified hotels in the network, and the cycling opportunities in various destinations across Greece.
A clear indication of the visitors’ interest in the “Bike Friendly Hotel” booth was that most of the brochures and leaflets from certified hotels and cycling companies displayed at the booth were completely distributed! Many nature lovers and enthusiasts of alternative activities also sought organized accommodation packages and services for cyclists from the hotels in the network.
The appreciation shown by visitors to the “Bike Friendly Hotel” representatives for their efforts to develop and boost cycling tourism in every corner of Greece serves as a strong motivator for continuing the work of the “Bike Friendly Hotel.”
The increase in certified hotels, which now total 60 across Greece, is evidence of a “collective” effort to strengthen thematic tourism and alternative modes of transportation for tourist-visitors. This effort is commendably supported by the members of the certified hotel and cycling company network in collaboration with NATTOUR.
By diversifying their offerings in their region through the acquisition of the label, hoteliers become more competitive and attract cyclists from Greece and around the world. The goal is to provide an organized level of accommodation for Greek and international cycling enthusiasts and athletes.
