As part of its efforts to promote cycling tourism and foster collaboration among its network members, the “Bike Friendly” label invited its members and partners to a relationship-building and idea-sharing event. The event was held online on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

Participants and members of the “Bike Friendly” network had the opportunity to meet each other, exchange views and experiences, and initiate partnerships.

Representatives of cycling companies presented their programs for serving cyclists in their respective areas, including cycling routes and, in some cases, innovative initiatives for collaboration with the hotel sector and organizing cycling races.

Hotel representatives shared their experiences in catering to cycling enthusiasts and their insights into serving organized groups of cyclists.

Representatives from municipalities presented their experiences and methods for developing cycling infrastructure that serves both visitors and residents, in the context of sustainable urban mobility.

The “Bike Friendly” label introduced its new initiatives and partnerships aimed at increasing bicycle usage across Greece, boosting cycling tourism, and promoting its network members.

During the event and the open dialogue between network members, opportunities for joint actions and initiatives to further promote the network and cycling tourism in Greece were discussed. Additionally, ideas for connecting network members through B2B meetings were proposed. Finally, there was an update on the revival of the Cycling Tour of Greece, a new annual competitive event and celebration of cycling. This event aims to attract the international cycling community, with hundreds of global cycling stars, professional teams, and national teams competing across various routes in Greece from April 26 to May 1, 2022.
