We are pleased to announce the inclusion of the nonprofit organization NatTour (the managing company of the “Bike Friendly” label) in the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE). Through our collaboration with SETE, we further highlight the importance of sustainable and cycling tourism in Greece, as well as the networking of tourism businesses across the country.

The Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) was founded in 1991 with the primary goal of uniting tourism businesses that provide high-quality services. SETE supports and promotes the interests of Greek tourism both domestically and internationally, undertakes initiatives for the strategic strengthening of the Greek tourism product, and, by extension, the national economy. It also advocates for the creation of a business-friendly economic environment, encourages the government and local authorities to take measures to facilitate investment, and sets the conditions for Greek tourism to remain on a sustainable growth path and maintain its leading position globally.

The “Bike Friendly” label by NatTour certifies that a hotel, a municipality-destination, a cycling company, or a travel agency meets a set of criteria for serving cycling enthusiasts. It helps create a “cycling identity” for the destination and makes it easier for tourists to use bicycles during their vacations. NatTour’s primary purpose and goal are to promote and develop sustainable and environmentally friendly forms of tourism, including all forms of alternative tourism—especially ecotourism, nature-based tourism, hiking, sports tourism, cycling, and other similar forms—focusing on micromobility, digital tools, inclusivity, equal opportunities, and the promotion of the natural environment and local gastronomy and culture.

NatTour’s inclusion in SETE aims to further promote cycling tourism in Greece and the organized development of sustainable forms of tourism, thereby contributing to the growth of the green economy and environmental protection while reducing the impact of mass tourism.
