History

SOLEBIKE is a family business founded by Costas Giannopoulos and his wife Sofia Souflaki. The business started timidly with 7 electric bicycles but with consistency and professionalism it developed into one of the protagonists of the field, receiving excellent reviews from customers and associates.

The idea that was born in 2012 with the first test ride on an electric bike, a year later at the end of 2013, transformed into a tourist business specialising in sightseeing tours exclusively with operation of electric bikes.

The vision of Costas and Sofia is to meet and interact through cycling. The electric bike became the heart of the activities and not by chance. For the founders it is a very democratic medium as it gives everyone, regardless of age or physical condition, the opportunity to enjoy the best of the region by cycling further and higher.

Today SOLEBIKE is active in Athens with many thematic tours using electric bicycles. It carries out daily departures, exclusive private tours and operations for large groups (incentives).

It has partnered with various excellent and traditional catering and culture businesses, integrating their products and services into its customers’ experiences. In collaboration with academic associates, it offers thematic tours of special interest.

It owns the largest fleet in Athens of 40 electric bikes with modern mid-motor technology and is supported by highly trained, experienced staff. It has the exclusivity of supporting audio headset for customers which offer a safe and excellent narrative experience.

   1.Resellers of tours

SOLEBIKE has a network of partnerships with short-term rental management companies, Hotels, tourist agencies and major Tour Operators (HELIADES, TUI, HOTELBEDS, VIATOR, ANDY’S TOURS, etc.) offering bicycle tours to their customers with commission agreements.

Since 2023, expansion of partnerships will come true with online services through an affiliate tool, establishing faster and more reliable management of reseller’s reservations.

   2.Develop a local operator

Since 2019, SOLEBIKE has developed a separate B2B department and cooperates with local businesses and hotels throughout Greece for initiating their own operation of eBike tours in their area. SOLEBIKE offers the know-how, the supply of the right type of electric (or non-electric) bikes, the design and the final tour on the field.

• SOLEBIKE collaborated for a number of years with the organisation of OPEN HOUSE – Access to Architectural Monuments, offering an unparalleled experience to the participants.
• It collaborates with the Non-Profit Organisation SHEDIA offering cycling experiences in the city during the summers.
• It was the exclusive provider of bike tours to the unique cultural organisation DOCUMENTA.
• It has supported as an activity sponsor the great events of EUROPEAN MUSIC DAY, VIDEO ART FESTIVAL, ATHENS HACK event and PLISSKEN music festival.
• It has supported the international organisation ACTION AID as a promotion sponsor.
• It has participated as activity sponsor various events of the MUNICIPALITY OF ATHENS and the REGION OF ATTICA.

Contact

SOLEBIKE is located very close to the AKROPOLIS Metro and the Museum. From there start and end all the daily tours either to the city center or to the coastal zone via the bike lane.
